Collage Artist Joan Ffolliott interviewed by Photographer Charles Purvis

Panelist: Joan Ffolliott

Joan Ffolliott attended the University of Washington studying sculpture and printmaking and earned her MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design where she received the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant.

In her printmaking, collage, and sculpture, Ffolliott emphasizes the exploration of materials, processes, and images, and how their associated integration impacts the viewer.

Joan exhibits around the country and is included in many private collections. In addition to teaching at RISD and Wheaton College, she is currently a member of the faculty at SUNY Ulster Community College, the Woodstock School of Art, and R&F Fine Paint. She lives and works in Malden-on-Hudson, New York.

Interviewer: Charles Purvis

From 1985 until 2006, Purvis freelanced as an advertising photographer in New York City creating groundbreaking imagery for a wide variety of internationally known clients.

In addition to commercial assignments, he's created a large body of innovative work inspired by a relentless curiosity and desire to uncover the creative potential of camera, light, film.

Purvis shares his skills and experience with artists and photographers through individual mentoring, group facilitation, and Creativity Coaching.
